I think we can anticipate, with respect to the provincial government&#039;s energy policy, a hangover disguised as a party in the upcoming budget. 

With the province&#039;s determination to privatize BC&#039;s electricity sector, we can be certain that there will be an even stronger emphasis on so-called climate solutions packaged as the new &quot;green economy.&quot; The plan is sure to involve construction of several massive and hundreds of small pseudo-green private (mostly run-of-river) power projects throughout the province. 

The government will continue their shameless self-promotion as global leaders on climate change solutions, positioning the province as a &quot;green energy powerhouse,&quot;  allowing private companies to destroy BC&#039;s pristine wilderness to power air conditioners and fill swimming pools in southern California. 

I think we can anticipate some economic benefits here--as long as energy consumption remains a priority over conservation. And &quot;green&quot; will remain the colour of money in company shareholders&#039; pockets . 

I can hardly wait for the Budget lockup!</description>
